Polypropylene

Polypropylene (PP) :- 500mic – 6mm in Various Colours. This material is extremely durable and converts easily with Laser Cutting. It is temperature resistant and will not take on water/moisture and is anti-static. Also being suitable for direct printing making it a very popular material in the Point of Sale Industry. It is not supplied with a protective film but is hard wearing so doesn’t scratch too easily.

Laser Cutting :- The cut edge is highly polished but as there is no protective film supplied there can be some heat marking that occurs when Laser cutting. If this is an issue with the finished item then a protective backing can be applied prior to cutting.

Raster Engraving :- Polypropylene is not the most suitable to be Laser Engraved, but it is possible. A small amount of heat marking will appear and the engraved surface becomes more Glossy.

Vector Engraving :- As with Laser Cutting, as there is no protective film there can be a possibility of heat marking around the cutting area. This can be minimised by adding a protective backing prior to Laser work.
